Addressing the Adolescent Mental Health Care Crisis
Mental health systems are not keeping pace with rising adolescent needs. While we understand the causes of this crisis, the challenge lies in implementation. My work focuses on translating evidence into practical, scalable solutions within primary care—empowering providers, parents, and adolescents to move from awareness to action.

Transforming fragmented systems into clear, actionable pathways that improve access, delivery, and outcomes in mental health care.
Turning insight into action to create stronger, healthier communities.
I am a doctoral candidate in Behavioral Health Management with a background in psychology, policy leadership, and communications. My career has been defined by one core strength—simplifying complexity and translating ideas into action.
During the COVID lockdowns, I witnessed firsthand the growing mental health challenges faced by adolescents and families. Long waitlists, limited access, and fragmented care systems revealed a critical gap not in knowledge, but in execution.
My work now focuses on bridging that gap by bringing practical, evidence-based mental health skill-building into primary care.
To bridge the gap between mental health knowledge and real-world application by integrating practical, evidence-based skill-building into primary care making mental health support accessible, actionable, and effective for adolescents and families.
To create a future where mental health care is proactive, integrated, and universally accessible where every individual, especially young people, has the tools and support needed to thrive, not just survive.
We often treat mental health as something to fix only when it declines. But research shows that mental health is trainable. Skills such as behavioral activation, cognitive reframing, and emotional regulation can be taught, practiced, and strengthened over time.
Encouraging purposeful actions to improve mood and rebuild daily functioning.
Shifting negative thought patterns into more balanced and constructive perspectives.
Developing skills to manage emotions effectively and respond with control and clarity.
Building practical mental health skills that support long-term resilience and progress.
Empowering better mental health care through clarity, strategy, and action.
A step-by-step approach to translating mental health strategies into practical, real-world implementation.
Teens begin by identifying small, achievable actions that build early momentum and restore a sense of control. These incremental steps help reduce overwhelm, increase motivation, and create a foundation for sustainable progress over time.
Evidence-based mental health skills are introduced through a structured and practical framework. Teens actively learn and apply techniques such as behavioral activation, cognitive reframing, and emotional regulation in ways that are easy to understand and implement.
Parents are engaged as active partners in a strengths-based process that encourages support rather than correction. This approach helps shift family dynamics, improve communication, and create a more collaborative and supportive environment for the teen.
Each session focuses on delivering clear, actionable outcomes. Teens leave with a defined roadmap, practical tools, and next steps ensuring progress continues beyond the session rather than ending with a referral alone.
Ongoing guidance ensures that progress is maintained beyond initial sessions. Teens and families receive structured follow-up, reinforcement of key skills, and support to adapt strategies as challenges evolve over time.
Primary care offers a powerful opportunity to move beyond identification and into action. Instead of waiting for specialty care, this model equips patients with immediate, practical tools during routine visits.
Helping providers deliver immediate, practical mental health support within everyday care.
From teens and families to providers and healthcare systems, this model delivers practical support that drives immediate action and long-term outcomes.
Immediate access to action-oriented tools, even when referrals and therapy are delayed.
A structured way to support their teen's mental health immediately, a road map.
A path to move beyond "screen and refer," towards "screen and support," a tangible, action oriented intervention within the visit
A scalable approach that improves patient experience, supports population health goals, addresses equity gaps, and potentially reduces downstream utilization from untreated mental health concerns.
This work is focused on creating scalable, real-world solutions for adolescent mental health. I welcome opportunities to collaborate, present, and further develop this model across healthcare systems.
